Default Has anybody gotten Dell 1397 wireless [BCM 14e4:4315] working with the b43 driver? - 03-31-2010, 10:57 PM

It's supposed to work with kernel 2.6.32+ and Broadcom firmware

b43 - Linux Wireless

But I keep getting these DMA errors
b43-pci-bridge 0000:03:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17
b43-pci-bridge 0000:03:00.0: setting latency timer to 64

b43-phy0 ERROR: This device does not support DMA on your system. Please use PIO
b43-phy0 ERROR: CONFIG_B43_FORCE_PIO must be set in your kernel configuration.

It only works if I load wl first, do a warm reboot, then load b43.
Apparently, this problem is only showing up on some computers with Intel processors and Phoenix BIOS.

If you can get it to work, please post your kernel version, distro, model, and BIOS version.

I got it working on different kernel versions with Arch Linux. You have to compile the module without dma (available in the debug options of the module) and it works fine.

Thanks, but I think I'd rather just use the Broadcom STA driver instead of B43 in PIO mode.
