From everything I've dug up on it to date, the chip used on this one's still not supported by b43... which is why Ubuntu even resorts to the Broadcom STA (wl) driver. The Broadcom supplied driver, though, doesn't support monitor mode.

Glancing at the Gentoo page about the b43 driver there even tells you the card itself's not supported: (from the table)
PCI ID: 14e4:4315
Subsystem PCI ID: 105b:e003
Device name: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 Mini PCI-E Controller 802.11b/g (rev 01)
b43: No
b43-legacy: No

So, what we're left with is: - 802.11 Linux STA driver

I do know Arch, Gentoo, and Ubuntu each have means to install the wl module without resorting to doing it completely by hand. Haven't the least idea on any others.

PCI ID: 14e4:4315 doesnt but PCI ID: 14e4:4312 does. but i would just say swap out the card, or if thats not an option buy a alfa.
