Thanks for the great guides! I've installed chromium exactly as described above, and it's working great.

Is there anyway to enable video playback for .avi, .mp4 and .m4v files?
Also, anyway to get it to play FLAC audio files too?

If you decide to upgrade to the April-2012 version of ChromiumOS from Dell you, may find flash and video/audio stop working. This is due to missing codec libraries and plugins in this build (no idea why).

Luckily there is a nice project on GitHub which seems to install all the needed plugins and extensions in recent distributions of ChromiumOS (works for Dell build too):
Flash, java, mp3 and mp4 and pdf support for Chromium OS builds by hexxeh
