Default Upgrading Dell Mini 9 Running 10.5.6 - 06-25-2009, 09:46 PM

I am planning on upgrading my Mini 9's 16GB SSD to a 32GB SSD, the plan is that I would like to just copy all my files/settings over (like a disk clone)

I tried using SuperDuper! to backup to a 16GB flash drive, but its not booting

Any suggestions on getting the drive cloned from the 16GB to the 32GB ?

I'm not sure anyone has gotten Super Duper to work with the Mini. (comments?) It doesn't for me, and I have no idea why not, but I know I'm not alone. Maybe try Carbon Copy Cloner instead. Or just bite the bullet. Back up your data, and do a fresh install.

You have to boot with a boot disk or usb stick and re-run DellEFI as cloning does not copy the EFI partition as I understand it.

I made 2 partitions on a USB drive. On one (FAT) I loaded the DellMiniBoot and Syslinux (to make it bootable).
On the other partition (HFS+) I cloned the SSD using SuperDuper (also tried one time with CCC).
In every case, when I booted from the USB drive I saw my cloned partition and was able to choose it to boot from. HOWEVER, the Mini9 would only and always boot from the SSD.
I have read other threads that indicate that this method works for other people. If any of them may be reading this please reply here with any suggestion of what the problem is.
