Ok... here is my attempt at pointing out a possible solution... still not the most user friendly, but at last I am able to see the controls at the bottom of the screen (though not all the time...). I found this utility... I don't vouch for it... but it hasn't seemed to mess my machine up yet. It is called Window Wrangler...
Window Wrangler | Move and resize windows with the keyboard | Donationware for Mac OS X While it claims to allow you to resize, it appears that GB still won't go any smaller. I have, however, been able to use the keyboard shortcut to move the GB window up allowing access to the controls at the bottom. Once you load the utility, if you go to the prefs you can assign your own shortcuts for move up, down, left and right, (I used ctrl-alt-arrow), resize up, down, left and right (I used ctrl-shift-alt-arrow) and center (I used ctrl-alt-home). These are the controls recommended on the website for the util, but I still had to remap them to get them to work on the mini. If it turns out this doesn't work like I am hoping it will, I'll post again... otherwise, maybe this is a workable workaround?? Good luck all!
