I've run into a weird problem upgrading my Mini 9 with a Runcore 32gig SSD
. I've done 3 installs, 2 on the Dell itself and 1 on a MacBook via USB connector to the RunCore and they always end up the same way - either:
A) The system boots quickly (~30 seconds, about as fast as it did with the original 16g STEC SSD
) but the whole system shuts off right as the Desktop boot is complete - i.e. right as the rightmost items in the menubar as displayed.
B) The system boots slowly (1 minute or more) and the whole system performs poorly after that.
I've tried deleting the dsdt.aml, re-creating the dsdt.aml, using DellEFI 1.1 and 1.2a and none of it seems to matter. In fact, I thought I was home free after the last install via the USB cable, as the system booted quickly and had good performance even without the dsdt.aml file being made, and rebooted several times OK with any of these issues. But then it started slowing down and the cycle started up again.
[Edit: Potential spotlighting issue removed, I realized that since I was adding new files between boots, this is probably normal.] Basically if I try to watch an AVI in VLC, and it's a slideshow. When it's functioning correctly I can watch a video over the network, no problem.
Any ideas? I know the Mini is OK because it worked great with the original STEC 16g drive.
(ETA: I am using a 10.5.1 retail Leopard disk)
