Greetings, I purchased an Intel Wifi Link 5100 card (from Ebay) and installed it today. I am running OSX 10.5.7 in my DM9 (DellEFI1.2a5). I assumed that the wifi card was plug-n-play, but I plugged, and it didn't play. Is there anything I neglected to do in my installation?

I was already afraid that the network card may have been damaged because of the way it was packaged - loosely in a bubble envelope that traveled to me from Hong Kong. When i opened the envelope, the card was not even in its anti-static bag, it was just swimming around in the much larger bubble envelope. Don't know how I can test the card for functionality.

Don't believe the Intel WLAN are OSX compatible.

You should look at Dell Wireless 1505 or Apple Airport Extreme if you wish to upgrade to 802.11n under OSX...

Dell 1505 is a direct replacement (2 wires for 2 wires) and works perfectly. I am typing this on mine connected to my Airport Extreme router
