Question Mini 9 OS 10.5.7 external display - 06-15-2009, 03:51 PM

I recently "successfully" upgraded my mini 9 to 10.5.7 thanks to all the posts, but now when I connect my external display, the my mini 9 screen breaks up and I lose the desktop. Anyone else had this problem and fixed it? Thanks.

Has anyone else noticed that the extended desktop is "magically" working now in 10.5.7? I was using MirrorDisplays for a bit, but now it seems I don't need to. I am afraid to try to mirror vs. extend. Anyone tried mirroring lately?

judging from the frequency of 'external monitor/projector' posts lately i don't think it's fixed. that and my own experience shows that there are subtle problems still. for the most part it works, but i can get it to fail easily.

Default How I fixed the monitor issue - 06-17-2009, 05:17 AM

I decided to look more closely at the DellEFI install and noticed that there was a choice in the custom install to select "reinstall old mirror kext..." I selected that and re-ran the DellEFI and it fixed the problem of using my external monitor. I have mirror displays selected now and it is working fine in 10.5.7
