Default Quick Question about OSX Install Method 1 - 06-13-2009, 09:34 PM

I'm looking through this guide: Guide Method 1 - Single USB Drive (Mac-only) | DellEFI | mechdrew

It says that an Intel Mac with Leopard installed is necessary, however the only thing that I can see that specially requires Leopard to do, is running the DellEFI MiniBootMaker.

I'm wondering, is it possible to do Step 2 (formating the 8gb USB drive, etc) on a PowerPC iBook (running Tiger)?

The reason I'm asking is that I do not own an intel mac (however I have a friend that does), but in order to minimize their inconvenience could I potentially do the prep work on the USB on my iBook, then just use their Mac to run the DellEFI BootMaker (Step 3) to create the USB Boot Key?

I believe the only step that needs to be run on an Intel is the Bootmaker.
