Default VirtualBox Ubuntu 9.04 3D? - 06-13-2009, 07:41 AM

I have installed the latest VirtualBox 2.2.4 and turned off the VT option for the VM. I then installed Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix followed by the Guest Tools.
It works, but I hadn't appreciated that the desktop actually uses OpenGL to render and the software emulation is to say the least sloooow.
So I tried turning on the 3D in the VM (using 64MB video RAM and 512MB VM RAM).
I can see the title bar and Ubuntu is obviously working, but the desktop is just a solid khaki colour.
Has anyone got 3D working in VirtualBox ?

I am using OS X 10.5.7 with Spaces enabled on DellEFI1.2a5 and Touchpad driver v17.
