Default HELP -- osx install question method 3 step 4 - 06-12-2009, 05:13 PM

Step 4 says:
4) Boot back into the DellMiniBoot CD but this time press Esc, then type either 80, 81, or 82. Select your SSD name and begin to boot. You may or may not see the startup video, depending on the version of your Install DVD. Setup your account as you see fit. When it comes to the Migration Assistant, do not transfer settings. (If you get stuck in a loop here, use the "-x" boot option before booting into the SSD at startup. When it is all done, you should see your Desktop, with drive icons for your SSD and DVD drive.

Steps 1-3 went fine. Wth the above (I'm using 80). I can select my SSD name, then it gives me the macintosh logo, but just sits there.

Okay, after several tries, I got it going, but now it is asking me how I connect to the internet. I connect wirelessly, and that doesn't seem to be an option. What do I put?

I went ahead and continued, and installed the Dell EFI. But I have to go back and do a network setup to load 10.5.7 over the internet and I am not sure how to do it. can someone give me a clue on that? thanks

I've found airport, and it sees my wireless network, but when i put in the network security key (and I am putting it in correctly) it says the connection failed. no explanation. This computer was working fine last night with wireless in XP before I installed OS X, and I never disabled wireless. Why is there a problem entering the network security key?

okay, after about twenty times, suddenly it accepted the network key. I have no explanation. I tried connecting to an unsecure network and same thing, it said it was connected but it just hung on bringing up a webpage, but then, going back and forth between the unsecure and secure network, suddenly it connected. I know the password was right because I had it displayed. It was very frustrating and confusing, but I've gotten that far.
