Default DellEFI says "not recognized as Mini 9" - 06-08-2009, 02:54 PM

Hi! First off, thanks to everyone who contributes to this great community! I did some searching but didn't come across an answer
to this...

After installing OSX (10.5.5 retail disc) on my Mini 9 (with stock 16GB SSD), when I run DellEFI I get a message telling me it doesn't appear that
I am installing on a Dell Mini 9. I can still proceed with the install, but was wondering if this is an issue?

Just ignore it. It'll detect the hardware properly in the next version.

before it read the mac address from the network card, which only tells you if it's a dell. The next essentially read the value from sysctl (hw.model) to determine what machine it is and which kexts to install. The Sysctl value is there event if the network card is loaded so it wont detect the hardware improperly.
I have all of the changes done (bluetooth patch, hw detection, selectable boot loader, etc), but I'll probably test it a bit more before I release it. I also ported it from applescript to objective c to make some things easier for me (although I still have to fix a few bugs).
I'll upload the source code in later today if you want to see what I've done.

Sorry to hijack this thread.. but.. Awesome Can't wait to see what you've done; let me know if you need any help debugging/testing/coding/etc.
