Default Seeing files that should be hidden in root of drive... - 06-05-2009, 01:32 AM

I should only be seeing five folders, instead I see a ton of stuff I am not supposed to be seeing. Any one know why? I have already ran the terminal command to hide hidden files, it did not work.

run this command from a terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles NO

After that either reboot or just restart the finder app by typing:

Killall Finder in a terminal and again press enter..

Did that, did not work. Here is what I have when I run the commands either way. Yes or No.
Its like some of the files don't know they are supposed to be hidden.
