Default 10.5.7 start up time - 06-01-2009, 12:07 PM

I am new to DM9 (mine is A90, with 2GB Kingston RAM and 32G Super Talent SSD, also a Kingston 16G SDHC inserted.)

I installed 10.5.7 and I did not experience those fast start up time and operation like most of you guys, am I missing something? Is there any fine tune that I need to do? Just no idea why it takes 3 minute + to boot up my OSX from power off. Can anyone give me some hints?

Make sure you have the latest dell efi installed, and re-create your dsdt.aml file (using dell efi).

I tried, remove the old file and then re-create one, but it said 'Could not create dsdt.aml file. Error 1' Any hint?

By the way, everytime I switch on the A90, it pull back the default wall paper, as I already change to a new wall paper before shut down, does anybody got this case?

Did you remove the dsdt.aml file with dell efi or by hand?

Make sure you have NOTHING plugged into a USB port. While you may have other issues, a mouse dongle or the like will render the Error 1 message.

Last time I re-create the file, there is nothing plugged in the USB and also I use the DEF to remove the olf file, just got no hint why this happened.

I don't think leaving my SDHC in slot will slow down the boot up.

I just time it, the boot up time is 2 minutes 40 seconds.

By the way, which method you guys use to install OSX, I just start to wonder if this matters.

You need to figure out why it wont let you re-create the dsdt file and fix it... without a valid dsdt.aml file, my system takes forever to boot. With one, it is very fast. (~30 seconds from press of power button)..

Take a look in your Console.log (Open the Console app in /Applications/Utilities) and see if there is anything relevant.

Mine takes 42 seconds from the time I press the power button to the startup chime, which tells me it's ready to go.

2:40 sound like an old Dell staring in Windows 98!

I redo the dsdt thing but it seems not working, still looking for the problem.

By the way, after start up, it is still lagging.
