External LCD monitor not working - 05-25-2009, 09:56 PM
For some reason I can't get the external VGA LCD to work. On this post: VGA Problem! (MAC OS X 10.5.6) other members refer to this subforum so I hope it's gonna help.
1. First time I tried connecting my external LCD it looked like it worked, then I tried the mirroring option....and eveything went south.....
2. So I use the terminal instruction: "mirroring off" to get all back to normal.
...unfortunately it didn't work and now each time I am trying to connect my external LCD both screens go blue (like the windows BSOD...but cuter because it;s mac :P).
Is there anything to fix this issue? How/Should I reset the display settings to their original values?

Apparently, form what I have read, you need to disconnect from the external monitor, open the terminal, type the "mirroring off," but don't hit enter until you reconnect the external monitor and get the messed up display. At this point hit enter, and that should turn mirroring off. I have never done this, but here is the post.
