Default Connecting to a pc - 05-15-2009, 09:46 AM

I simply want one thing. That one thing is for my mini to connect to my morbidly obese laptop to suck up about 50GB of the hard drive so I can store stuff. Please help me if you can if not oh well and yes I have googled it and my laptop is on windows 7. I am about to spend the money to get time capsule that is if it is compatible with the mini.

You can do it in two ways:

1) Via a network. Share the C: drive on the Windows machine and use the Mini to connect to it. In Finder, click Connect to server and type in smb:\\ipaddress\sharename (replace with whatever yours is) and you should be able to retrieve everything

2) remove the harddrive from your laptop and connect it to an IDE->USB or SATA->USB adaptor.

The main problem I forsee is... does your Mini have a large enough harddrive to store another 50gbs worth of data?
