I still get about 3 hours on my Dell Mac mini 9.
I upgraded my mail-lady's Dell Mac mini & it showed 4:45 of battery time.
Later I got rid of needless applications, repaired permissions then put it to sleep. Later I woke it up & after calculating, it showed 5:50. Of course I don't believe that for a second.

Hers still has the stock 16 GB STEC SSD & mine has a 32 GB RunCore.

I wonder if the SSD makes a difference in battery time?

Try using it till the battery nearly dies .. although it isn't technically good to do that, you only need to do it once. I have the 32gb stec and when I first got mine it was reading about 3 hours of battery life, and about 3:30 with the screen dimmed all the way, and so I did a battery check on the thing by using up nearly the whole battery, and once I checked it the next day after recharging it showed 3:50 already instead of 3 hours, so I would do that, make sure the battery is in check and it should so a more "correct" battery life expectancy.

Gotta break the battery in for it to know what it's potential is!

-Dell Mini 9 - Refurb $269: Obsidian Black, 32GB STEC SSD, 8GB Kingston SDHC (left from previous owner), 2GB 667Mhz RAM, 1.3MP Camera, Bluetooth, Mac OSX 10.5.7
-Dell e1705 - New $1055: ATi X1400 OC/ed 175% faster, XPS 1710 Heatsinks, XPS 1710 Body
e1705 is old, it needs not to be upgraded, but rather be replaced.

My experience:
Was running 10.5.6 and dellefi v1.1 but with voodoo power management. Was getting indicated 4+ hours battery life. Never did a run flat test but seemed about right. After upgrade to 10.5.7 and using dellefiv12a5, found that the indicated battery life with a full battery had dropped to 3.5hrs. The voodoo power kext remained in the extras folder after the updgrade so I removed and updated the kext cache etc. No change from 3.5hrs. Did a safe boot and removed the dsdt.aml file and did anther safe boot and recreated it - no change from 3.5hrs. Did a safe boot, removed the dstd.aml file and with another safe boot installed the dellefiv1.1 kexts etc . Now back to indicated 4+ hours on full battery.

Yep I get nearly 4 hours on the indicator post 10.5.7. However in usage it was closer to 3 which is what it used to be. So I think there's no difference despite what the indicator said.

I had did a full cycle (drained till it had under 5 minutes left), before I did that it was saying 2 hours for some reason.

I had the same "less than 2 hours" issue after installing 10.5.7. I notice i still had the BIOS A00, installed the A05, and now i have around 4 hours battery.
