all good here too using conq's instructions.

Real Mac's are also having problems with graphic issues upon reboot, so this upgrade for us wasn't too much different than many with real macs.

Well I got it to work after a bit...

When I tried to install dsdt file I kept getting a Error 1....
It worked after about 6 tries...

I ended up just running the DellEFI another time and rebooting a time or two and that caught it. Not sure why it was having trouble. I'm pretty sure I already have it set right in the bios. No matter. It's running better than ever now.

Make sure that you have all applications closed during install.

Also note that the first time you reboot after installing the 10.5.7 update it WILL NOT get to the startup screen, but reboot AGAIN, so keep watching on the first reboot after installing the update, as this nearly caught me out!

works as advertised, for me anyway.
almost freaked out about the first reboot after update as well, but remembered my mac did that this morning too.

I used the 1.2a5, (custom) and used the option to remove the dsdt.aml, then rebooted. re-ran it and then re-created the dsdt-thingy-ma-bobber.

re-ran AboutThisMac.pkg and unplugged the power cord. greeted with 4:16 left (down to 3:55 left, 3 minutes later... the mac notebooks suggest a full charge/discharge cycle to calibrate the power manager every month or so, so I'll let it do that and settle itself out.

hehe, 3:42 left now.... I wish work went by that fast...

However, no matter what I did, booting without the bootloader always gave me the blank blue screen. This was ok - with the bootloader I could get into my machine and use it normally, but that's not ideal.

6) Eventually, I putzed around further, and removed the entire /extras folder in the root hard drive. I then ran DellEFI 1.1 yet again, from Safe Mode. Once I did this, my machine booted normally, into 10.5.7. I've rebooted a couple times, and updated Safari beta 4 (the whole reason I foolishly ran SU in the first place), and everything seems fine.

Ultimately, I don't know quite what was busted (leading to the plain blue screen), nor what fixed it. But booting with the bootloader, into safe mode, and wiping out /extras entirely then running DellEFI 1.1 seems to have fixed all that I need.

Hopefully this can help others.

i too am having the bluescreen issue. but im also having trouble getting it to boot at all, even with a bootloader.

id like to try removing the extras dir, but is there some way to do it from single user mode? im no terminal expert, but when i try removing the directory with rmdir it tells me the dir is read only file system and i cant seem to find a way around it. anyone help me out?
