Ok...just got my mini yesterday and got 10.5.6 install great using DellMiniBoot123v8.02b1 and DellEfi 1.07.1, now 10.5.7 is up had to get it.

I tried the steps listed, but I used 1.07.1 didn't work...so I tried 1.1 but I didn't have it deleted the dsdt.aml just installed extensions. This gave me the blue screen of death in safe mode or normal. So the moral of the story is use 1.1 or 1.2a 5 and do what it tells you to do nothing else in easy install.

Now reinstalling with dell efi method plus 10.5.7 update and then install dell efi 1.1 in safe mode.

Both worked for me.
10.5.7 combo update. Apple - Downloads - Mac OS X Updates - Mac OS X 10.5.7 Combo Update

Thank you X-Files, one last thing. Does DellEFI need to be executed from a USB? or can I execute it directly from the Mini9 SSD while in Safe Mode?

I had no luck w/ it on my Mini9. Display is all scrambled to the point you can't see anything. Only the cursor was fine. Unfortunately I didn't back it up, but then again, I just installed it a week ago, so I had nothing on it

ok...that doesn't work. I did a fresh 10.5.6 install then on first boot into os x I ran stand alone update, then tried to boot into safe mode didn't work. Going to do the other method.

Still no luck with bluetooth here? I don't even get the icon or bluetooth option in system prefs, system profiler shows the usb device is there.

I hopped on here after not paying attention, and accidentally updating to Mac OS X 10.5.7 while trying to update Safari (yes, quite stupid). I saw conq's instructions, and started them. I got into safe mode the first time, logged in, and ran DellEFI 1.1. Great.

It sounds like at least a few people have hit this (and perhaps it needs its own thread, once I/we've solved it), and I have a bit more detail. Right now:

I've made a bit of progress - using a bootloader (with
DellMiniBoot123v8.02b1), I can get into my system, in both normal and safe mode. To do this, I boot from USB to the bootloader, hit esc, and experiment with 80 numbers (81 when nothing else is plugged in, 82 when I have a second thumb drive in). This will lead to it showing my internal SSH, which I can then boot.

If I boot normally, everything works fine. So, I'm pretty close to where I want to be, but ideally, I wouldn't need the bootloader to start up my Mac.

If I boot into Safe Mode, I can follow conq's instructions. No matter what I do, however, once I reboot without the bootloader, I get stuck at the blue screen, no mouse, no login window.

I'm not sure where that leaves me, really. As it stands, if I want, I can boot with a USB stick and use the Mac just fine, so I'm unlikely to restore. Ideally, however, this would of course boot on its own, with no extra hardware needed.

So, 1) If you're getting stuck at the blue screen (no mouse, no login), try the bootloader and 2) Anyone know what's hosed, and how to fix it/what the bootloader is doing to circumvent it?
