Default Webcam not recognized (10.5.6/VMWare Fusion/ XP)? - 05-10-2009, 03:12 PM

I successfully installed XP onto my Transcend SDHC card using VM Ware Fusion (type 11 OS X install method, updated to 10.5.6 and all current updates).

I tried installing the Dell Webcam Central software and it says to plug in webcam.

I reinstalled driver off Dell Resource CD, and still get same message.

Any idea what's going on? (and where is Dell Video Chat software to reinstall?)

I do believe the webcam is a usb device, which means you probably need to attach it in vmware. If the vm is running, you can click the little usb icon in the lower right corner and attach it, if it isn't go into the settings and attach it.

Once you have it attached, I'd think it should work. I don't use fusion on my mini, but I do use it on my main desktop.
