Default Hanging at boot - 05-09-2009, 12:51 PM

I have a dual boot set up with win 7 and probably 1 out of 3 times I try to boot os x it just hangs at the apple logo. I have to shutdown and try again and it will work. I'm also experiencing the noise coming from the speakers now right after boot. Its just static noise. Has anyone been able to figure out what causes that yet?

I also get the static sound. I've always thought it was the microphone input going through the speakers, but now when I think about it, that doesn't make much sense. There is a stickied post in the OS X forums about this issue, though.

About the hanging at the grey screen with the apple: Check to make sure that USB legacy is disabled in the BIOS, along with USB wake. These two options cause trouble with OS X, in my experience, and the USB legacy has hung my boot up a few times.
