Hi, Is iLife (want to use Garage Band) included in the Retail DVD install? thanks

Nope... sorry

iLife does not come as a part of OSX Leopard (or any version of OSX)... although iLife is included when you purchase a new Mac. This does cause some confusion because people then perceive that iLife was a part of OSX when, in reality, it is not

The normal retail DVD does not include iLife. iLife is bundled with new Apple computers on their gray install dvds, which aren't compatible with systems other then the system they were meant for (ie: you couldn't take a gray imac cd and use it on a macbook).

You can get a bundle pack though that has ilife, iwork and leopard for about the cost of leopard + iwork so that might be an option you may be interested in.

get the iLife, iWork, OSX bundle. you get three awesome products for less than the cost of any two
