Here is a version of gptsync for mac.

There wasn't anything on the message, but thanks. I was able to find a mac version, however I wasn't able to get it to work still. I'm sure I'm not doing something right.

I got Ubuntu and OSX installed and running but when I try to install Windows 7 on Partition 4 it says:

Quote:
Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

For 2 full days, I've tried all of the instructions in several of the Forums, all to no avail. I'm trying to create (on a Mini 9 with a 64 Gig SSD):
OS-X 10.5.x Install
Dell Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04 Install
Windows 7 RC-1 Install

I'm using a known, proven-to-work USB installer for Leopard, a known, proven-to-work USB installer for Dell Ubuntu Netbook Remix, and a known, proven-to-work DVD Installer for Windows 7 RC-1, 32-Bit version, via an external USB DVD drive. During the Leopard installs, I'm running the post-install dellEFI 1.2a5.

Every time I do one install, it "wipes out" the reference (I assume in the MBR) to the previous one(s). I've tried every variation of installation "order", all with the same result. What am I missing? Shouldn't there be a simple way or easy to use tool that would allow editing the MBR, just like one can edit the Boot.ini in Windows? I'm primarily a Mac guy, fairly experienced, am also good with Windows, and I understand the unique partitioning requirements of each OS (Mac=GUID, Ubuntu Linux=ext3, Windows=NTFS). I can get all three installed, but I can only ever get the Mini to show me the boot screen for the last install done. HELP!

I gave up on the GUID partitioning. I modified my OSX install media to support MBR installs. In a few short hours I now have a triple boot with OSX, Win7, and Ubuntu 9.04 and using the Chameleon boot loader. The process was pretty simple, might have to start a thread on it.

My Mini9: Black/2GB Hyper-X/64GB STEC/1.3MP/BT/OSX&Win7&Ubuntu (via MBR)
Wife's Mini9: Black/2GB Stock/16GB STEC/1.3MP/BT/XP

Please do create a thread on how to do this!!! I am now on Day 2 of the GUID adventure.
So far I have gotten OSX and Ubuntu netbook remix working, but I fouled up installing Windows XP. I would do Windows 7, but after reading the posts and poll for will Windows 7 kill your SSD, I think I'll stick with XP Killing a 64gb Runcore would not be my idea of fun.

A few short hours.....how about 2 long DAYS? Seriously, please start a thread with instructions on how you got the triple boot to work - there are lots of folks who could use the help. Thanks!

I did not gptsync and it works. Here are the steps I used the whole way.

1. Install OSX - 10.5.6 Retail Leopard Disc - GUID partition map - Installed Chameleon2 - upgraded to 10.5.7 - test that system boots correctly.

2. Install Ubunut Netbook Remix - 40gb / partition, 2gb swap partition, install boot manager to sda4 (root) partition

3. Boot from OSX install media and run netbook installer with Chameleon as the only option selected. This puts chameleon back as the boot manager and linux will be an option if you press a key to interrupt the boot process.

4. Boot into linux and run updates

--- I am here, anything that follows is my plan, but as of this moment is not executed.

5. Plug in an external USB CD/DVD Drive and boot Windows XP install cd

6. Install Windows XP on the remaining space

7. Install XP drivers and updates

8. Boot from OSX install stick and reinstall Chameleon2

This should give me my required triple boot installation. If you do not have a USB CD-Rom you will need to make a USB XP Install Stick and I do not have handy instructions for that.

I have a lenovo S10 from AT&T with a WWAN card. The card works great in Ubuntu and did work in XP, but I do not have it working in OSX.

I will keep working on this until it is perfect. I would love to help if you have questions, so please ask.
