Default Older version upgrades to newer versions - 05-07-2009, 02:16 PM

Sorry, a newbie question for someone who's never owned a Mac or used OS X.

If I buy a full retail disc of 10.5.1, can I upgrade after install to 10.5.6 (or whatever the latest version of OS X is) will no ill effects, or do I need to buy/start out with 10.5.6?

Also, if I buy from an individual user, do I need to worry about the licensed key being used/activated like with Win XP?

You do not need to start with a retail 10.5.6 disk... you can use prior versions and then update

Use this guide

 Mini 10v  | 2Gb RAM | 320 Gb HDD | Ubuntu 10.04 | OSX 10.6.3 | NBI .8.4RC1 | Chameleon Bullet Theme | BIOS A05 | USB Wake : OFF | USB Legacy : ON | No BlueTooth
