Reboot into the external then I ran DellEFI 1.2A5 while the drive was still connected to my MB(being the boot drive) and unchecked generate dsdt file. System shutdown on the MB and over to the Mini9. To be able to boot into the external drive I had to leave legacy USB support on (so I can not use sleep without crash) but I can work from my external with a full OS X without trouble. Reran DellEFI to create the specific dsdt file. The internal disk (still ubuntu) is not available in OS X but I don“t have any problems with that. Now I just need my RunCore to arrive. Not sure what will be my final version - options are 1. install fresh system 1.a) migration from existing system 1.b) install all programs new or 2. clone the full system of the MB and reduce it“s size I have no problems with cloning, since I own family license for all software on my MB (including Leopard) Martin |

Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for my Mini to arrive (3 shipping date changes so far), but I have been using the Runcore drive as boot volume on my MacBook and using it as an opportunity to install the programs I plan on using and to sync the Documents folder from the iMac. I'm planning on using it mostly as a vacation computer that I wouldn't be *too* upset if it got lost or stolen, but also as somewhat of an 'emergency' machine. If the house burns to the ground, it'll be another backup of bank statements and other important documents that I'll jump out the window with, and be able to view/print/mail them. |

You can also hold down the Option key while booting up the computer and a list will appear of the drives to choose from. I've added this second way in the instructions on the first page. 2. Depends on your internet connection speeds and how many updates you need. I tend to install the OS X Combo by itself first by unchecking all the others. Then run again until all are finished. Sometimes this elimnates having to run the others because they are incorporated into the "Combo" update. | |

I used my Mac Pro Tower (2.8 Dual Core, 2008 model), Retail 10.5.4 disc, upgraded several times, then used DellEFI. Now to color calibrate this puppy so I can use it for my photography! BTW, i think the image gets cropped when posting. Sorry! ![]() Thanks MDM forum!!!! |
