Default Reformat an OSX install? * FIXED - 04-30-2009, 05:09 PM

SO I need to reformat my SSD (currently OSX) and reinstall OSX. How do I do that?

When I try to boot from the EFI bootloader, then swap the disk for my Mac install disk, the unit begins to boot, but hangs at the white screen with the grey apple logo, therefore, I can't get to the disk utilities.

Of course, I can't just boot the machine and reformat because disk utility won't let you format the boot drive.

EDIT: Never mind. "-x" is your friend!!!

Dell mini 9 (white)
Self installed bluetooth service unit
Self installed Super Talent 32GB SSD
OSX 10.5.6
Primary apps at the moment: Office, Firefox, Evernote.
