Default DVD drive question - 04-29-2009, 05:21 PM

I am trying to build my Mini9 Hackintosh, and I am using a USB->IDE adaptor and a Samsung SH-S222 (22x DVD+-R/W) internal drive as my external drive. I can run the MiniBoot disk, but get the EBIOS READ ERROR when I switched to the OSX disk. I have tried power down/reinsert the USB cable, but cannot resolve.
Do you think it is a HW related error if I can still read the MiniBoot disk? I can pick up a new one if needed/

Not sure, but the drive needs to be supported by OS X. I used a XBOX 360 HDDVD drive and it worked perfectly and since the HD DVD format has been dropped they are cheap.
