Did you go to the system preferences and see an icon on the bottom? The icon looks like a plain greyish touchpad. Double click that icon and you should see the things that you can tweak.

Version 16 also doesn't work on my Vostro A90 with 10.5.7, V15 does though.

I have taken V16 offline for a couple hours for some trouble shooting. I will advise when its back up.

I just downloaded this (before it was pulled) and installed it over the last version. Question, how do I know it took, vs just keeping the v15 version.

Go and do a Get Info on one of the files that were changed. Look at the creation date. By that result, you will know how old the file is.

I manually upgraded the kext and the pref pane using the terminal (followed instructions in the original posts), after I upgraded to 10.5.7 using conq's method. Everything works fine.

My original trackpad install was v15 using the scripts, but i upgraded manually. The first post of the trackpad driver thread lists KEXT 17, but on page 60 it says Kext 16 changes, so I am not sure exactly which kext we are up to.

I used both the new kext and prefpane from the first post of the trackpad thread, under 10.5.7. They are working great - SO AMAZING.

The installer scripts make this all the better- there should be a way to merge the two theads into a convenient "trackpad kext installer thread"

Thanks again for all your work-

L

I had the same problem when I tried to install V16, the pref pane didn't install correctly as it did with V15. I tried to uninstall, reinstall V16 a few times and tried to repair permissions but to no avail. V16 driver eventually worked when I installed V16 over V15 already installed. BTW, this solution works on both 10.5.6 and 10.5.7.
