Well, this seems to be the definitive source for the 10v, right now: Snowy - Windows Live

The NetbookInstaller people are working on Snow Leopard support, but it seems they aren't talking about it. See: r35 - netbook-installer - Project Hosting on Google Code

Yeah, it would be nice if every little file that is added is documented, but that isn't going to happen. Part of the problem is that there are sometimes many different versions of the same file.

I imagine that Snow Leopard will work just fine on the Mini 9 and 10v right around the time Snow Leopard ships.

anyone know if the 10v "snowy" source (mentioned in frank's post) will work on the mini9? I noticed the compressed folder says "mini9ext" (i.e. they're modified from dellefi/netbookinstaller perhaps).

Yeah i used dellefi drivers in SL on my 10v but i removed a few of the extensions and added a few for Snow Leopard exclusively. So it should in theory work on the mini 9, but all that needs to be done is a working ata driver in snow for the mini 9's ata, verses the 10v's sata, which is quite different.

You could try the Intel ATA kext from netkas.

It should just work, i looked in the vanilla ata driver and the mini 9's ata dev id is in there.

I just wonder..... 10.6 is 64 bit kernel.... mini's ATOM CPU is 32 bit only and how is it going to run the 64 bit kernel?

Yep, pretty much had to be, as the earliest intel macs were 32 bit only, with the original core duo chips.

only the Xserves run in 64 bit kernel by default in snow leopard. everything else is 32 bit. Real macs can be forced into 64 bit by holding 6 and 4 during boot but not every 64 bit mac is supported.

Default Snow Leopard boots to installer - 08-27-2009, 01:15 PM

I hadn't seen this anywhere yet, so hopefully this is not a redundant post...

I created a bootable Snow Leopard USB key using the NetbookInstaller 0.8.2 RC4 on my Mac and tested the boot process on my Mini 10v.

The system booted perfectly and loaded the Snow Leopard installer without any problems.

I've yet to continue from this step. I think i'm going to wait a little while until there is *official* support for Snow Leopard.
