Hopefully the final version will install & run as easily as 10.5 does.

You have to use the 64bit dsmos.kext and the Disabler.kext from the same site.

For some reasons PCEFI didn't use the boot.plist from /Extra so I had to modify the one in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/. I inserted the device-properties string from my 10.5 install and some timeout.

Then booted with -v -f and voila...

So far screen res is 800x600, no sound, no network, no internal SSD but trackpad and keyboard are working with the kexts from DellEFI.

Now I will play around a bit more with DellEFI.
Just a heads up, I didn't do any of that and now have 10.6 running on the Mini9 via USB drive with 1024x600, Airport, SD Card Support, Bluetooth, Ethernet.... basically the only thing that is not working is the Sound. It does see my SSD with 10.5 on it, so from that stand point the SSD is working.

All I did was install 10.6 from another OS X installation from within OS X, booted the Mini into SafeBoot, ran the Dell EFI 1.25 and rebooted.

** Just did some looking around, while I thought this was 10a380, turns out it's only 10a96

HI, I tried a lot of things with no success. Can you provide a bit more info on what you did?

So you:

1. Installed Snow to an external USB HD via your Macbook Air.
2. Disconnect the USB HD from Macbook and connect to Mini9
3. Boot Mini from USB (how is this possible without a boot loader? If you used one, which one did you use and when did you installed it? When running via the Macbook air? Then if so there should be a 1.1 step reading "Run DellEFI 1.2a5 to patch kext and install bootloader.

A more detailed description would be helpfull. Maybe I can use this info to actually build a boot process that will allow to install Snow directly from DVD/USB key into the Mini9.

Hm, Build 10a96 is over a year old. I think it's more 10.5 than 10.6. After installing DellEFI my 10a380 install stopped booting.

The 10.6 AppleHDA.kext (aka sound driver) is different to the 10.5 one. It has to be patched differently, therefore no sound.

Well, I just got 10a380 to bootup on my mini 9.

Things you need:
1) Leopard
2) PC EFiv9 UPDATE: Chameleon 2 seems to work fine for me aswell/
3) Snow leopard boot file to replace the one in pc efi
4) The magic touch.

So, what you need to do is format drive that you want to boot to with gpt.
Next you run the OSInstall.mpkg file from a running leopard isntall.
Next install pc efi and the updated boot file.

Finally, you have to play around with the kext.
1) add AppleDecrypt to the install, either in /Extra/Extensions (the bootloader looks there) or /S/L/E
2) Add Dissabler.kext (I'll post links late tomorrow if someone else doesn't first)
3) Remove IOATAFamily (kp'd on me, yes, that mean you cannot use the ssd).
4) Copy over the dsdt.aml file to / and reboot to the drive ( pressing 0 to do so)
5) Install any otehr kexts you want (ps2...)

-- What doesn't work --
The internal SSD
Sound
Wifi (haven't tried to set it up).

I couldn't attach an image, so here is a link to it

bmaltais was able to get the ssd and wireless to work by including the 10.5.7 kext. The only way (that we know of) to get audio is to use VoodooHDA, which still has the bug after sleep.
