Default Remapping keys - especially Y and Z under OSX - 04-26-2009, 08:23 AM

so I got myself a Mini 9 from eBay but with an UK keyboard. At the moment I'm working with the UK mapping of the keyboard but I hate the positions of the Y and the Z keys (as I'm more familiar with germany keyboards).
So I thought of remapping the Z and Y. Every other key can be mapped like normal UK keyboard because I like it for programming and stuff (brackets are easy to reach).

Now I'm wondering if there is any way to remap just the Y and the Z key (like the xmodmap in unix systems).

so far

What you need to do is create a new keyboard layout and put it in the Keyboard Layouts folder in your Library folder.

You can use a program called Ukelele to create the new keyboard layout. If you search for ukelele on this forum, you should get some good "how to" messages, explaining how people have set up custom keyboards (e.g. AZERTY).
