Default Kernel Panics on Boot - 04-25-2009, 10:39 PM

Occasionally on startup, before Finder has a chance to fully load, I'll get a kernel panic. Usually it's about 1/week, so since my install is amazing otherwise, I haven't worried.

That said, they've been somewhat more frequent the past few days, peaking at about three today. These only happen on fresh boots, so I don't know how to reproduce the phenomenon.

I had installed KisMAC to help tighten up my network security at home (since we'd had a few issues of people breaking into our network recently), and that's really been the only change to my system... but it seems to have vaguely coincided with these increased kernel panics. Any clue?

My system is as follows:

2gig RAM
64 gig HD (from dell)
Latest stable DellEFI
bluetooth/1.3mp webcam

i created a similar thread.

i tried many things to fix it but to no avail. however, the problem is essentially gone; the last kernel panic i had occurred approximately 2 weeks ago. i guess it's just one of those quirks that comes with a hackintosh
