Nope. I have 2 GB, not the problem, although the manufacturer may play an part. Mine was just some cheap stuff from NewEgg, works pretty good though.

i have 2gb ram (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820208341) too and it hasn't affected sleep at all.

Weird. I wonder what the difference is as a lot of folks seem to be having this issue (not being able to restart after a sleep cycle).

I don't think it's the RAM since it happens to me with both the 512MB stick that the unit came with and also with the new 2GB stick that I bought from Newegg. Perhaps it's related to USB Legacy support? I have it turned off but I've also read some messages from folks that didn't need to turn it off for proper sleep.

My setup:

Mini 9 (purchased 3/24) with A04 (USB Legacy Support turned off in BIOS). OSX 10.5.6 direct install. DellEFI 1.1.

weird, i just tried an experiment. ok, my mini was sleeping and waking fine. i had USB legacy enabled. When I DISABLED it, I had the black screen after trying to restart it following a very short sleep period. I hard-shut-down (using the power button), changed back to ENABLED in bios and booted up. After closing the lid and letting it sleep for a few minutes, the restart was just fine.

So mine needs to have it enabled for it to sleep and restart properly. Is this opposite of everyone else?

That's how mine is set up, I have never turned off USB Legacy Support, except that one time back in February but I hated not being able to boot from my flashdrives.

Weird. I just updated to A05 and then turned USB Legacy Support back on and now sleep works and so far, I can restart after sleep. I'll have to try it a few more times to verify but it wasn't working before and now it is.

Perhaps A05 helped?

A05 didn't fix it for me.

If I remember correctly, the reason people were turning Legacy mode off was so that their devices would work to wake the Mini up from sleep. For some reason I think I am missing something, anyone care to elaborate? Might help us sort this out.

For a lot of us, including me, the system locks hard upon waking from sleep if legacy mode is on.

Well, I tested some more and for some odd reason, sleep & sleep/restart works fine for me now. It wasn't working before but now I can put the machine into several sleep cycles (I tried 4) and then restart without any problems. Only changes since I had problems is the updating to A05 and installation of Little Snitch.

Very strange but I won't complain since it seems to be working now!
