Default Endless loop after install.. help please - 04-16-2009, 04:20 PM

after install, I reboot once again with the miniboot8.01 and then choose 80 for internal drive. I get the welcome, pick languages screen, and then the "would you like to transfer info from other mac" screen.. I hit "NO" and then the process begins all over again with the languages screen...

Answers buried in section E section 10 of the install document. Your problem is apparently normal. No panic, just re-entry darwin at boot time but type -x not with return/enter as before. It will enter darwin in safe mode then you can finish off the install, then all will be fine. Exact issue with me and it worked after entering safe mode

thanks.

now I have a completely different problem. I went thru the setup and got the desktop and everything looks good. BUT after I shut it down when I try to reboot, it says OS not found. Is there I step I forgot after the setup? Do we do something else?

Thanks again for any help.

After the mac os install, you should upgrade to 10.5.6, then you should run AboutThisMac.pkg You also need to run the latest DellEFI exec and all will be fine. It should then boot automatically into 10.5.6 This is what worked for me
