| Senior Member Posts: 354 Join Date: Mar 2009 | i had no problems installing and running XP home on a virtual machine Fusion 2.0.2. i also loaded an Ubuntu 9.04 virtual appliance from VMware. i couldn't install the Dell Ubuntu that came with the machine touhgh... it took for ages to get anywhere i gave up, but got no errors. | Member Posts: 45 Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Central NJ | Wow, I was thinking about a getting XP for a virtual environment, but thought the Atom processor is too sluggish for emulation, so I just repartitioned my 64GB SSD drive to pop XP at the end in a 5GB spot. | Member Posts: 48 Join Date: Mar 2009 | For all of you wanting virtualization inside of OSX-- you might want to give VIRTUALBOX a try. (Yes, it's free). I've been using VirtualBox on linux, Vista, and now-- OSX - with various guest hosts inside. For me, it works flawlessly. Performance in XP in VB is really quite good. http://virtualbox.org |
