Thanks to mechdrews incredibly thorough FAQ, I had no trouble installing Mac OSX. Lately, however, I have been having problems. While I am pretty sure this is more a generic mac problem in general, I figured that I might be able to receive some help here.
A few days ago, I left my mac mini, and when I came back the battery had completely discharged. I checked to make sure I had not disabled sleep, and it was still set to go to sleep after 10 minutes. I worked around that by closing the lid, which still caused it to sleep. I figure something I installed was causing the problem, but the only thing I had done was install Crossover Office after uninstalling darwine. Even after uninstalling Crossover Office, the problem persists.
I read of someone else having similar problems and checked the log as he did, but my log files are pretty bare; I saw nothing that would indicate an application crash during the time I was testing sleep mode. I also have tried to find an alternative to PowerTop (a power management program I have used with Linux in the past) but with no luck. Finally, reinstalling DellEFI 1.1 did not solve the issue either.
As an aside, another problem which might be related to this one is at first I was able to sleep and wake, and have no trouble rebooting, but it hangs on reboot as well now.
