Re: Performance of Handbrake Apple Universal encoded movies? - 04-09-2009, 08:23 PM
I've yet to encounter any files my Mini couldn't play chop-free, but then again I'm not sure just how high a bitrate the 'Apple Universal' files end up with. If it helps any, I recommend Niceplayer and Movist as video players on OS X; Niceplayer is very lightweight and uses Quicktime components (Perian), while Movist is a codec buff's dream, as it will switch on the fly between Quicktime components and FFmpeg, and includes a very detailed "Get Info" window, etc.

it takes over 12 hours on a 1.1ghz pentium m xp. i gave up on doing it on my mini - i didn't want to let it sit without using it that long!
