According to Silverlight's homepage, it works fine even on some pretty slow PPC machines. I don't understand why it would be telling you it can't install on there.
Edit... Good old Microsloth.. Can't get anything right.. I tried installing it on my son's G4-800 iMac.. Got the same message, this program will not install on a PPC computer. WTF..
That said.. It installs just fine on my Mini9.. But I didn't use the Type11 method..
Here's what "About This Mac" looks like on my machine.

I had this same problem with Silverlight thinking that my Mini 9 was running a PowerPC processor. Did some google searching and ran across this thread in another forum:
Installed Silverlight 2 using the zip file in that thread. I restarted Safari and Firefox and was able to stream Netflix without any problems. Strangely full screen Firefox had a worse performance than full screen Safari (which was pretty darn smooth). Apparently the problem with the Silverlight 2 installer has something to do with the reported processor in the Utilities -> System Profiler. Mine reports "1.6 GHz processor" which may be too generic for the Microsoft installer. My
About this Mac" applet says "Intel Atom ... @1.6 GHz", so that's not the problem. It must be the System Profiler. Any idea how to update that?
