If you look in your /var/log/system.log

I found a message that said this:
-=Replacing extension "" with newer version (2.0.0 -> 9.0.0)=-
So it was essentially, automatically replacing my driver back to the 9.0.0 one.

What I did was went into:
Changed the 2.0.0 to 9.0.1's so it would take the driver I want to load.

Backed out to /System/Library and deleted Extensions.mkext so it rebuilds and reboot

This worked for me. Does anyone know if the Leopard kernel has default drivers built in and if the driver kext we are trying to load is the same name and is an older version, the default kernel drivers override the ones we are trying to use lol?

OK, I don't know what exactly happened, but so far, my machine seems to wake from sleep perfectly. Now I have two-fingered scrolling, instant wake from sleep witout crashing, and I don't have to press a zero when it wakes. So thanks for this!

The steps I took:
- upgrade to latest DellEFI
- go to /System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext/Contents/Info.plist"
- Changed the 2.0.0 to 9.0.1's so it would take the driver I want to load.
- delete /System/Library/Extensions.mkext
- rebooot

As you can see I just followed the above poster, and for some reason chaning a few text strings seems to solve everything (for now at least, I wonder what will happen if I do install 10.5.7 on it).
