Default Bios A05 - 03-26-2009, 08:58 PM

Just an FYI:

I just tried out A05 and have no problems with it.

The new bios includes a new DSDT which at first glance fixes most of the (battery) problems that the dsdt patcher fixes. Who knows... maybe they looked at my code . I'll be looking at the dsdt and making a new patcher that includes dell's code with any fixes that may need to be there for us (which may include a kext update, but probably not).

Until then, you can update to the new bios and regenerate the dsdt.aml file without any problems.

UDATE:
On second glance, it looks like some of the code in there is good, while others lines in there are just plain bad. I'll be keeping the good and removing the bad as long as it doesn't mess anything up.

Maybe a dumb question, but where is BIOS ver A05? I only see A04 on their web and ftp site?

Got a link?

Not saying it isn't genuine, but hey, it does seem odd...

It was posted by someone who works at Dell, who says it was released internally.

He released A04 early as well, so it should be safe. I'll wait for the official release though.

What I would do is install the new bios, remove the dsdt file, reboot and then regenerate the dsdt file.
