Big thanks to those whose hard work make this go fairly painlessly. I've got a Mini 9 with runcore 64gig SSD and 2 gig of ram, and installed using the DellEFI method with a DVD drive, a Gear Head Mobile Slim. Went fairly smoothly. As have others, I had some problems with the DVD timing out, but was able to wake it up by plugging and unplugging cables a couple of times. The automatic format of the new SSD didn't work for some reason either, so I had to start over and manually partition the drive. First time I ran the Mini9 utils I had an issue writing the .aml file, but the second time it worked. Still, overall, not a big deal at all. Just got done installing Ilife and Iwork on it and everything seems fine so far.

A bunch of thanks for all the posts guys - very helpful together with the gizmodo article. Got my mini converted in with a couple of hours work and everything seems to be working perfectly fine. This is such a beauty of a machine so i just have to get more of them
