Default mirroring off no worky - 05-26-2009, 05:33 PM

-bash: mirroring: command not found

If there an alternative command or another way to reset the monitor settings?

I should have never selected the "mirror displays" box.... external displays won't work and neither will this "mirroring off" supposed fix.

look for the version .plist

and info .plist

under system and preferences

and if you are using time machine copy those files back before the screen was messed up

I had the exact same issue and fixed it with this tool: FabiƔn CaƱas

1. Simpy download and stick it in applications
2. Plug in external monitor, screens will fuzz up
3. Hit the Alt key and Space
4. Type mirror -off and press return
5. A few seconds later you will have two usable screens

I just got OS X on my Mini9 today and after 5 minutes had hit this problem (that'll teach me to click things without thinking!) and this program had me sorted in seconds.
