Re: OSX doesnt see the bluetooth module at all... ? - 04-02-2009, 12:31 AM
Can you confirm that bluetooth was working under Windows or Ubuntu?
If you're not sure, you can quickly make a ubuntu usb boot stick, and load up ubuntu to test without affecting your current OSX install. From memory, bluetooth should be detected and work in the latest versions of Ubuntu out of the box.
Instructions to create the usb boot stick are here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Insta ... omUSBStick
and/or here: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
Also, once you're in there, you probably want to load up the aircraft-manager utility, which is available here:
http://dell-mini.archive.canonical.com/ ... 11_all.deb
This should enable you to check the hardware status of your wireless and bluetooth, and enable them if they happen to be disabled. Basically, I think if bluetooth was disabled/switched off in Ubuntu or Windows before you installed OSX, then OSX may not have the required driver functionallity to turn this on again, and the aircraft-manager utility allows you to do this.
