Re: wireless-N: What is your router? what speed are you getting? - 03-24-2009, 10:01 PM
I was asking the same questions of all users regardless of OS.
I want to know if upgrading to an N router and/or wifi card is faster/better reception, and if upgrading to a card with N capabilities is worthwhile (are typical free wifi sites using N routers yet, do cards that support N also get better reception/speeds using g, what is good, what is a waste of money, etc.).
I want to know people's personal opinion and/or any technical data to support....I figure a concensus will emerge on how best to spend my limited $$$. Should I get a new wifi card that has N or stick with stock broadcom? If upgrading card, should I spring for new router for my home?

IMHO, really can't go wrong with most Linksys draft-N routers due to the fact that they are usually equipped w/Broadcom radios which allow them to be DD-WRT compatible like the WRT600N, WRT610N, and WRT160N (Version1 only)!
