Default My Macbook came with 2 Mac OS X Install Discs - 03-24-2009, 09:05 PM

I just got Mini 9 and in the process of installing OS X on it. I was just about to copy OS X DVD onto the flash drive but I noticed my Macbook came with 2 installation disc, 1 and 2. What should I do now?

If you'd read the faq, you would know that the OEM disks you got with your shiny macbook are not usable to install OS X - buy one. Your macbook has a combined package (OS X and ilife), thats the reason for the second disk.

Buy one.

purchase a retail version of leopard. the back up discs that came with your macbook are for your macbook.

Um, does your friend just have an unused disc randomly lying around? Because if it's installed on another computer that still isn't legit.

nice. thats still not the legal way to do it. you might as well stop by a gas station, fill your car up, drive off without paying, stop at a grocery store and put some snacks under your jacket and walk out so when you get HIS disk, you won't feel that the worst thing you did that day was pirate software.

you really should buy a retail copy of OSX. at least respect apple that much.

don't worry all. my friend's copy is the family pack he got through our school. it's used in the sense that he upgraded his macbook and imac to leopard but that still leaves 3 remaining slots, one of which i am about to use now.

also, lol @ pic.

then u will be happy to know that he and i used to be roommates. since we once shared the same living space before, we can consider ourselves household members and thus able to use the license without breaching the EULA. it's wonderful how everything works out so nicely.

just 47 more minutes before OS X is installed. the guide in the FAQ is definitely easy to follow, A+
