I don't want to be considered as a ***, but I can't wait to take advantage of this new driver with its prefpane.
Do we have to wait until the final DellEFI 1.2 final release ?

When its done its done. I cant tell you when that is though.
What I can tell you is that the touchpad part of preference pane is working almost perfectly, except that I don't have it sending the preferences to the kext on boot up. I haven't done anything with the keyboard part yet.

Once I get that working, I'll post an update with the pref pane and a kext.

DellEFI 1.2 probably wont go gold until after the touchpad driver is done.

Who wants to play with the preference pane?
I've just uploaded it to the first page, nothing on the keyboard tab will work, however everything in the touchpad tab is functional (on the pref pane side). Nothing will work until I upload a new kext (tonight). Until then, tell me what you think.

PS: There are still a few bugs with it that you will notice right away, but they arent too important (will be fixed in the final version).

EDIT: Looks like I broke my install (at least for now). It may be a bit longer before the kext is uploaded. It should be working as is, but I want to test it some more before I upload it.

Ok, I've just uploaded a new kext:
What works:
Tapping, edge scrolling
some pref pane configuration

What doesnt work:
Dragging (dissabled due to bug)
Anything that didnt work before.


Prefrence pane hander:
What works:
Scrolling area slider
Edgescrolling checkbox
Clicking checkbox

What doesnt work:
Settings are not persistante after reboot (in the kext, they are in the pref pane)
Everything else

On a side note: The firmware supports w mode, so i can have it detect a "very wide finger" and use that as two finger scrolling. It wont be nearly as good as on a macbook, but I'll test it out and try to tweak it so it works.

Meklort, I installed the newest kext, but it completely disabled my keyboard and touchpad. I didn't see that issue with the previous ones. Is there anything special I needed to do besides correct permissions and UpdateExtra?

It should work out of the box if you copy it via the terminal (sudo cp -rf /Path/to/ApplePS2Controller.kext /Extra/Mini9Ext/)
By using sudo it has the correct permissions.

You may wan to see if the kext actually is loading (using a usb kbd) and the command kextstat | grep PS2
