I dont know if this has been suggested already but is it possible to make the right button the same as the left button. It will act more like a mac and since the buttons are so small i often hit the right click by accident all the time.

I'll second this one. When I first installed the v17 drivers, I was able to have the right button as the main click, the left button as the control click, and the trackpad as the main click, along with scrolling. After a recent install, when I set the right button to main click, the trackpad will do nothing but the control click (secondary) actions. So I've been forced to turn off trackpad clicking to keep my right button as the main button. It would be a nice feature to implement - keep the trackpad independent of what the hardware buttons are doing.

I'm going to overwrite the 10.5.7 combo updater, then run all the driver installs again from EFI 1.1. I think v17 under 1.1 allows the decoupling as a 'bug', which is actually a feature.

thanks for help. I just reinstalled and played with the sensitivity for the 1 finger and all working . Nice to have click functionality .

I don't know if it matters but I installed in ~/Library/PreferencePanes and ~/Library/LaunchAgents rather than /Library. I upgraded from v6 to v18 and it all works swimmingly.

Please can someone offer some tips/advice to fine tune this driver. I installed 10.5.7 on using the 'Install to Runcore' instructions, and ran DELLEFI 1.2a5 restoring 10.5.5 keyboard prefpane.

With this setup I am able to select Clicking as a trackpad gesture but not (it seems) dragging. There is no two-fingered scroll option with this, so I thought I'd try this driver out.

I installed following the terminal instructions all seems to go well and I like the two-fingered scrolling, however I find it very difficult to select text using Clicking gesture. For example before installing this I was able to click and drag over a selection of text in something like Safari this seems very buggy after installing v18.

I can double tap to select a single word but I'm then unable to drag across a selection of text. I'm also finding that changing settings in the new Trackpad prefpane seems to have little effect on finetuning things. I also find that I'm unable to get two-finger tap to work (it maybe works 1 time in 20). Drag lock also doesn't seem to work.

Sorry for waffling on, I'd just appreciate some feedback for other users if they have the same issues or if they have any preferred settings I might be advised to try out. I appreciate this is an experimental kext but it seems people are generally getting better results. I would really like to get the click gesture working well on the trackpad.

for us 10v's it would be nice to have it like the new drivers that are out. It allows you to have areas for tapping. this way we can right click without using buttons. our buttons cause the mouse to jump (because its part of the pad) thanks!

This is the exact behavior I get when using northmendo's applescript installer on my mini10v.

for OS install, I removed the sata disk, plugged in to my macbook via USB cable adaptor, formatted GUID 1 partition, did a vanilla install from a 10.5.4 ISO image(open /Volume/macosinstalldisk/System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg), installed 10.5.7 combo update, then ran NetBookMaker(from Downloads - mydellmini - Google Code) against the USB attached disk.

I don't think the install method should make much of a difference, but wanted to share. really looking forward to getting the trackpad working. Thank you for all the hard work!

I'm having the exact same problem. I originally used DellEFI 1.2a5. I have /Extra with all the usual contents, but there's no UpdateExtra.app inside.

EDIT: On a whim, re-ran DellEFI; it installed UpdateExtra.app.

Just wanted to say thanx for your work on the touchpad driver, without this its nearly impossible to work without a mouse! Though it may not already be perfect, I like it!

v18 is working great for me, especially appreciate new 1-finger click threshold control.

When I first installed it though I think I entered some threshold setting for the 1 2 or 3 fingers that all of a sudden totally chewed up my trackpad bandwidth - very low sampling speed - and barely was able to get finger tracking functional enough again to reset to low thresholds (I didn't have access to attach a mouse during the installation or tweaking.)
