Personally, all I do ensure that the System Preferences app is closed, copy over the new pref pane, and then open it. You will want to make sure that you change one thing (you can then change it back), that way it'll rewrite the pref file and send the preferences to the kext. If you really want to, you can delete the preference plist first, but it shouldn't be necessary.

Suddenly, my driver disables upon restart unless I've set touchpad sensitivity to the highest setting. Anything less ends up disabling the driver after a shutdown. Is there a solution to this? I have no idea why this problem suddenly emerged.

I had a similar problem as yours with kext 13/14(? I can't remember it exactly). I had to set the sensitivity to the middle to make it usable upon reboot... and it didn't boot at all some times. But after upgrade to kext 15 and reinstall boot loader and other stuffs in DellEFI, everything goes smooth now.

I'm having a problem when I press and hold any key and move my finger on the touchpad at the same time, it sees every movement of the mouse as a click, that's not good. Anyone else have this problem? I have click and drag enabled, and two finger scrolling.

Dragging isn't done yet (well, it is in the next version, I'm just working out a bug with drag locking). I'll upload a new one tomorrow even If I don't have drag locking working which should fix the problem.

Quick question, how do I check which version of the kext I currently have installed? Is it listed somewhere within OS X?

It seems the prefpane removes the ability to ignore trackpad input when a mouse is plugged in. Any way to get this functionality back?

Sorry, it's not listed aneywhere. The only thing that is listed is if it's the built in one, or mine.

As far as I know, this never worked with our trackpad (at least not with the apple pref pane I have installed). If it did, I don't know why it wouldn't work now. I can always program in a method that when a new mouse device is plugged in, it disabled the trackpad (and when unplugged, re enables it).
