Yup, you copy it into /Extra/Extensions1 for 1.07.1

And just so everyone knows, this driver should enable side scrolling on any (hackintosh) laptop with a ps2 synaptics trackpad. Right now I don't have the code reading the size of the trackpad to calculate the side scroll area, but I plan on adding it in the future.

Just tried it on 1.07.1, and trackpad stopped working completely. Reinstalled extensions via dellefi and all is back to normal.

Think I'll wait until I update to dellefi 1.1 final

I haven't tested it with 1.07.1 so I cant tell you if it will work on it, although I cant think of any reasons why it wouldn't.

Meklort, I really like the new side-scrolling kext, but the cursor tracking speed is way too slow. If I turn the speed up in the trackpad prefpane, I lose resolution -- the cursor jumps about 5 pix at a time because of the high scaling factor. I'm sure you're aware of this, but I'd be happy to help test if you need it.

The reason that it's like that Is because I'm just scaling the input by a factor of .1
According to the synaptic specification, in relative mode the firmware uses a scale factor of .11 when at high speeds, and a scale factor of .04 at low speeds.

What I need to do is implement some sort of accelerated movement like the relative mode firmware does.
Another reason is that when I scale the packets, I'm dropping the decimal place and loosing precision there.

I've uploaded a new kext with tapping (no dragging) support. It's probably not very good, but it does work.

I've started work on a preference pane to configure the kext from. You'll be able to set most things in there (tap sensitivity, scrolling area, etc).

EDIT: Apparently you can only attach 3 files. I've removed kext3 and replaced it with kext 4.

kext4 is working fine on 1.07.1, it must have been me messing up with kext3.

I tried this and the touchpad does not work for scrolling (running DellEFI 1.1, runcore 32GB, no bluetooth). I'm sure I am doing something wrong - any ideas?
