This really isn't a tip that is specific to the Mac Mini 9 (so I debated whether to post or not), but it's sure made a difference for me, so here it is... I really love OS X on my Mini 9, but the screen seemed a little "dull" for my taste (and late-40s eyesight)... In any event, I experienced my Mini 9 screen as definitely duller than my MacBook Pro. So... I'd forgotten how useful the Universal Access preference panel was in OS X, but I was dinking around in preferences and found the contrast setting there. Just a slight nudge of the slider there makes a world of difference for me. I adjusted mine to just a hair before the first vertical hash-mark on the scale, and I find that I no longer have to tilt the screen quite so wayyyy back in order to suit my visual preferences. I hope this tip/reminder proves useful for someone else as well.
